We are happy to announce that submissions for the Usk Helsinki Wall Calendar 2026 is now open.
Last year’s calendar was a success and we are looking forwards to starting working on the next year’s calendar.
From all the submissions, the Usk Helsinki team will choose 12 images, to represent each month of the year. One of the images will also be featured on the cover of the calendar.
We welcome all kinds of media and styles.
Before submitting your sketch though, make sure to read the details below:
1. THEME: the theme for this year is “Seasons”. That means we are looking for sketches where the seasons of the year are somehow depicted. Snow, fallen leaves, green vegetation, or any other element which gives a “hint” on the time of the year it was made. This will help us create a calendar with images that represent the “mood” of each month of the year. Feel free to also send indoor sketches.
2. FORMAT: images should be sent in landscape format on the size 330x 216 mm ( A4 + 3mm bleed) in JPEG format.
3. RESOLUTION: at least 300 ppi for the final size ( if your original artwork is smaller than A4, scan it at a larger resolution, ie 600 dpi, so your image won’t suffer much pixelation during enlargement).
4. LOCATION: sketches should be from places within Helsinki Metropolitan Area (that means including Vantaa and Espoo).
5. DEADLINE: the deadline for submission of the sketches is Sunday, October 4th 2025. We will announce the chosen artworks by the beginning of October 2025.
6. MANIFESTO: All images should follow the Urban Sketchers Manifesto, be drawn on location, from direct observation. The full manifesto can be found here.
7. COPYRIGHT: by submitting your sketch, you give Urban Sketchers permission to use your image in the Calendar 2026, in case it is chosen. The sketch might also be used in posts promoting the calendar. The image will only be used in relation to the 2026 Wall Calendar. We will always give the credits to the creator of the sketch, either in the calendar or in social media posts.
The owner of the selected artworks will be given a free calendar.
